Hi, I'm Rachael—editor, poet, writer, and word nerd. When I love something, I love it hard. I love it deep. I love it to the point of wanting to take it apart and put it back together piece by fascinating piece.
And I love stories.

Feeling the stress of trying to finish your book while balancing parenting, work, and maybe even a little bit of a social life? I feel your pain. In fact, I feel it so much that I built a course to help you through it.
A writing course by a busy parent, for busy parents.
I come from a long line of word-obsessed people. My grandparents were avid readers, and my mom encouraged a love of writing early on. When it came time to name my editing business, I knew I wanted to pay tribute to them, so I borrowed the name of their dairy farm: Rosedene. My goal is to continue their tradition of passion and dedication in my own personal and professional endeavors.
As an editor, I love to focus on the line-level details of a story. After a decade of experience as an English teacher, I know the rules of punctuation and grammar, but my favorite part of editing is digging deep into the sentences themselves to help each writer's individual voice shine.
So let's get started! Writers are amazing people, and I can't wait to work with you and immerse myself in the worlds you've created!
My grandparents, Lloyd and Dorothy, in front of the farmhouse where four generations of my family have lived.
"Rachael is like a black light when it comes to editing. I think it’s all solid and fine but then she turns on those laser eyes of hers and incredible editorial brain and she finds all the things I’ve missed. She is patient, so approachable and friendly, and truly cares about writers. She respects the work and does so much to help make it better. My confidence has soared as a writer because of Rachael’s incredible guidance and help. Thank you, Rachael!"
-Bethany, romance author
"Working with Rachael has been a breath of fresh air! From the very beginning, she brought a perfect blend of professionalism, kindness, and sharp editorial insight. As a first-time children’s book author, I needed someone who could not only spot what wasn’t working, but who could also cheer me on through the process—and Rachael did exactly that.
Her feedback was clear, thoughtful, and always constructive. I never felt overwhelmed or lost—just supported and inspired to create the best version of my story. I’m genuinely excited to continue working with her as this project evolves into a series, and I’d recommend her without hesitation to anyone looking for an editor who truly gets both the craft and the heart behind your work."
"I had the best experience working with Rachael! She was super thorough and helpful, going through multiple drafts with me to make sure everything was just right. It felt like a real team effort as we bounced ideas back and forth, and there was an amazingly quick turnaround so I was able to have all of the material ready for a writing event on short notice! Her feedback and suggestions really made my query shine. I can't thank her enough for all her hard work!"
-Fiona, political thriller author
I do not use generative AI in any of my projects—writing or editing. This is work that I enjoy doing, and I'm not going to offload it onto a technology that's been built on exploitative labor and the destruction of natural resources. When you hire me to do a job, I am the one doing the job. I will never feed your work into an AI system or use AI to conduct research for your manuscript.
If you have used generative AI to create your manuscript, I may not be the best editor for you.
(Note: assistive AI used in spellcheck and non-generative grammar check, which is included in most writing software, is fine.)
