Words are hard. We’re here to help.
Join me (editor, indie author, and English teacher) and my brother Ramsay (the extrovert in charge of keeping the conversation going) as we discuss writing and editing techniques. New episode weekly. Tangent-to-topic ratios will vary.
If you’re looking for a community of writers, discussions about craft, resources for publishing, and the occasional chicken pun, you’re in the right place! Some of the things you’ll find inside are:
Monthly Live Meetings. At each meeting, we’ll have a presentation on a topic related to writing craft, revision, publishing, marketing, and/or mindset, followed by discussion and a time for critiques and feedback.
Weekly Prompts. Get writing prompts to help you keep your motivation flowing.
Feedback Chat. Share snippets, ask questions, and get feedback from other members throughout the month.
Accountability Chat. Share your goals and deadlines so we can encourage and support you!
Celebrations Chat. Writing is a lonely activity. That’s why we have a dedicated chat for sharing and celebrating wins, from publishing to landing an agent to finally finishing that scene you’ve been stuck on 🎉

Get the tools I used to write over 200,000 words and publish 2 books in 4 years, all while working full-time as an English teacher and parenting 2 children under 4.
If you're tired of feeling stuck in your story, like you're missing out on your dreams while everyone else passes you by, then this course is for you. It will give you the tools to make the most of short writing sessions, plan productively (even if you're a pantser!), and finish a publish-ready manuscript.
You've waited long enough. It's time to write your own story.
This course is designed so you can complete each module at your own pace, no matter how chaotic your schedule is.
Each video is 4-10 minutes long, perfect for watching while you wait in line at parent pick-up or while you feed the baby.
You'll also get worksheets specifically created to help you write and plan in the cracks of your day.
I'm a stay-at-home mom to a toddler and a preschooler, and finding time to write has been a real struggle ever since we had our first. Since my free time is pretty limited I don't usually sign up for online courses (especially not paid ones), but I love Rachael's writing so I decided to give “Writing in the Cracks” a try. For a busy parent like me who wants some real-world advice on how to write when your day is dedicated to pretty much anything else, this class is absolute gold. Rachael has a background in education and it really shows in the way she put all of this together, and I love that she’s also a parent who struggles to find time to write. My only complaint about this course is that I wish she would’ve wrote it sooner! But that’s alright, progress on my second book has already so much faster and easier using her methods. Thank you, Rachael :)

"Writing in the Cracks" appealed to me because even though I'm not a parent, I have a demanding job with constant schedule changes and last-minute overtime that left me feeling like I had no time or energy left to write. Let me tell you, Rachael's course was well worth it. We've all heard "set aside time to write" and "make writing a habit," but what Rachael does is teach you how to make that work when you feel like there's no way you can. Her approach is totally unique and many of her ideas (for example, loops) I have never seen anywhere else. The videos are short and the corresponding printables (yes, you get printables!) are beautiful. If you are at all intrigued by the course description of "Writing in the Cracks," I encourage you to make the leap and learn from a wonderful author and parent who is more than happy to help you become the writer you want to be.
