Hi, I'm Rachael—editor, poet, writer, and word nerd. When I love something, I love it hard. I love it deep. I love it to the point of wanting to take it apart and put it back together piece by fascinating piece.
And I love stories.
I come from a long line of word-obsessed people. My grandparents were avid readers, and my mom encouraged a love of writing early on. When it came time to name my editing business, I knew I wanted to pay tribute to them, so I borrowed the name of their dairy farm: Rosedene. My goal is to continue their tradition of passion and dedication in my own personal and professional endeavors.
As an editor, I love to focus on the line-level details of a story. After a decade of experience as an English teacher, I know the rules of punctuation and grammar, but my favorite part of editing is digging deep into the sentences themselves to help each writer's individual voice shine.
